The following organizations are able to provide emergency shelter and help for people living with, but trying to escape from, domestic violence. Northern New Mexico Domestic Violence Help
Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico
The Crisis Center is located at 577 El Llano Rd in Española. It’s a service provider for victims of domestic violence. They focus on safety and community resources. The provide an emergency shelter for victims and children. You can call 800-206-1656 day or night for help. Walk-ins are also welcome. The Crisis Center serves the northern New Mexico community.
Esperanza Shelter For Battered Families Support Center
Esperanza Shelter is located in Santa Fe, New Mexico at 3130 Rufina St. They provide free and confidential services as a domestic abuse agency serving primarily Santa Fe County and the eight Northern Pueblos. But don’t be afraid to reach out, because they occasionally even shelter abuse victims from other parts of the state and country. They can provide you with safe and confidential housing, counseling, food, clothing and supplies. They will help take care of you and your children if you have children. If you don’t have transportation to leave, they can even provide that.
Community Against Violence, Inc. (CAV)
Community Against Violence, Inc. (CAV) is in Taos, New Mexico at 945 Salazar. Their 24-hour crisis line is (575) 758-9888. This crisis hotline can provide emotional support, advocacy and help provide you with intervention services. The can get you and your children emergency shelter including short and long term safe housing. Plus, they can help with on-site or off-site transitional housing. They will provide legal advocacy and help you get a protective order against an abusive partner. They will also accompany you at the ER, hospital or doctor’s office to provide advocacy in situations of physical or sexual violence.
