Gallons of paint usually run around $20 to $50 each. When you’re spending your money buying fresh bathroom fixtures and sprucing up your landscaping in order to make sure that your house looks the best for the upcoming sale, an extra couple hundred dollars for purchasing paint is an unnecessary expense. You can easily find bargain paints if you don’t have your heart set on one particular color. Most of the paints you will find at a bargain aren’t old paints, they’re simply store returns. Usually they are completely full gallons. Sometimes, the paints never even leave the store before getting put back on the shelf. Yet, since they’ve already been tinted, the store doesn’t have the shelf space, so they go on the bargain shelf.
You will be able to find deals on gallons of paints all over. I’ve found mistints at Lowes for under five dollars a gallon. Walmart has a paint section and it’s always full. I can swing into Walmart, certain to find ample paints to freshen up a room for under ten dollars. Sometimes you can even find the larger jugs of interior/exterior paint. Having paid less than $20 for $140 worth of paint just recently, I can assure you, unless you have a very large room that you want in a single color, you will be able to find paints at a huge discount. Home Depot has a constant flow of discounted paints sitting on a shelf to sell fast. Usually, these paints are half off. Local hardware stores are less likely to have a bargain shelf, but they often still have discounted paints. Just ask the clerk. A fresh coat of paint is one of the easiest ways to drastically improve the look of your home. I’ve even purchased uniformly colored patio and concrete paints for half off at Walmart. If you’re already in the store, it’s easy to just swing by the paint counter. Check the lower shelves, that’s generally where the paints are kept, but don’t be afraid to ask!
