New Cemetery For Veterans In Angel Fire Gets Funding Approval
U.S. Sens. Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich and U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan recently announced approval of funding for a veterans cemetery in Angel Fire. Angel Fire is the perfect spot for a veterans cemetery. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park is located right here in Angel Fire. It will be made possible using a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The new facility will make it easier for many people with homes in Taos and Angel Fire to visit the grave sites of loved ones, because the nearest national cemetery is now 90 miles away in Santa Fe. This cemetery will be capable of serving 15,700 veterans and family members at its completion.
