Using Banner Space Over Kit Carson Park Entrance
We are your Taos area experts. Have a question about something related to Taos? If you’re one of our real estate clients, chances are we know the answer or can find it for you. For example, one question, completely unrelated to real estate, has been asked:
“How do I request to use the banner space over the Kit Carson Park Entrance?”
You may have seen banners hanging over the entrance. Applying to use that space for your own banner is easy. Click here for the application. Then, fill it out and submit it to the parks department at Kit Carson Park. The same application is used for banners on the light poles at Taos Plaza and banners at the Civic Plaza Extension too.
Rules For Banners At Kit Carson Park Entrance
The banner can’t be longer than 10′ or wider than 3′ to be hung over the Kit Carson Park Entrance and at the Civic Plaza Extension. For banners over highway 64, the limit is 24′ long by 3′ tall. There are other rules too that can be found on the application page.
You have to deliver the banner to the Kit Carson park office a week before you want the banner put up and it’s based on a first come, first serve basis. The fee for set up is $50 over the Kit Carson Park entrance, at the Civic Plaza Extension and on the light poles on Taos Plaza. The Highway 64 fee is $120.
The banner can only have text on it that is for the event and sponsor. You can’t hang religious or political banners. You also can’t hang banners concerning a public question on any ballot.
